Reaching the starting point: From Ljubljana, drive towards Idrija. In Idrija, turn left at the third traffic light into the centre of Idrija. At Mestni trg, turn right and drive uphill, following the signposts for Kanimeljsko Razpotje or the psychiatric hospital. Under the hospital building, turn left and park on a small parking lot 200 m uphill from the Podobnik tourist farm.

Trail description: Hike on the steep uphill footpath until you reach a poorly maintained access road, which will take you toward a water reservoir. Before you reach it, turn left onto a well-trodden path. In places, you will have beautiful views on Idrija and the surrounding hills. When you reach a road again, you can continue to your left on the road to the transformer station or go straight ahaid (on the poorly maintained road) and after a few 10 m turn left onto a footpath that will lead you to the top. From the transformer station, continue westwards on the ridge. On your right, you will notice a stone marker that signals you have reached the top of Kobalove Planine. When you descend from the ridge onto a forest road, turn left and follow the road to the first right turn. Here, continue on the well-visible footpath downhill until you reach an asphalt road. Descend on the asphalt road for another 500 m until you reach your starting point.
