IDRIJA UNESCO GLOBAL GEOPARK
The natural and cultural heritage sights in the Geopark can be visited in a modern, fun, and educational way with the TeachOUT app which you can download to your mobile device. Using GPS, the app will guide you from one location to another and you can solve different tasks and challenges and explore the unique characteristics of the Idrija Geopark.
Downloading the App
The TeachOUT app (provided by Locatify) is available in Google Play and iStore and is free of charge. It can be used on any smart phone/mobile device. The app uses GPS technology which is why it is necessary to enable this on your mobile device. The TeachOUT app can be downloaded at home or at our Visitor Centre where free Wi-Fi is available.
Once you download the app and choose a trail you want to explore, the app will give you directions on how to proceed to the starting point. At each location, the app provides a general description and then various tasks and challenges you solve along the way. Once you’ve solved all the tasks at one location, instructions are provided on how to proceed to the next one. And so on until you’ve reached the final location.
