Programmes and Guided Tours for Experts
The area of Idrija Geopark has always been an important study region for established natural scientists. This is why Idrija Geopark offers themed programmes focusing on natural and cultural heritage of the area for visitors and experts who are looking for a more in-depth presentation.
These programmes are tailored according to wishes and requirements of individual groups. The guide will explain the geological characteristics of this region, take you on a tour of the former feldban (military narrow gauge railway) or show you the Idrija Fault valley.

Lectures and Round-Rable Talks
A part of our educational activities are lectures and other educational events intended for in-depth presentations of the Geopark’s natural and cultural heritage.
Each year, Idrija Geopark host various lecturers from Slovenia and abroad who are experts in the field of preservation and interpretation of natural and cultural heritage, geotourism, promotion of geoparks, education, and networking.
These events are intended for experts and general public, have free admission and mostly take place during the European Geoparks Week. You are kindly invited to take part in the interesting programme we prepare every year.
